Pertanika Journal of Learning, Pedagogy and Educational Leadership (PJLPEL) is committed to upholding the highest standards of scholarly publishing, encompassing the responsibilities of publishers, editors, and authors. This commitment ensures not only academic quality but also trustworthiness, transparency, and accountability throughout all stages of the publication process, from manuscript submission to final publication. Accordingly, PJLPEL requires all parties involved to prioritize academic integrity, avoid all forms of publication misconduct, and respect intellectual property rights. This Ethics Statement is aligned with the International Standards for Editors and Authors issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which serves as the international reference for best practices in scholarly publishing.
Copyright violation is an important, and possibly related, ethical issue. Authors should check their manuscripts for possible breaches of copyright law (e.g., where permissions are needed for quotations, artwork or tables taken from other publications or from other freely available sources on the Internet) and secure the necessary permissions before submission to Pertanika Journal of Learning Pedagogy and Educational Leadership (PJLPEL). Our Publisher, UPM Press and Faculty of Education Studies (FPP) holds the copyright to all published articles. The author(s) should submit the Pertanika’s Copyright Permission form to the Editor-In-Chief once the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors must ask for permission to publish their article (or a selection from the article) elsewhere, such as a Pertanika article later appearing as a book chapter or as a translation.
